After being in the mix early on, running
out of fuel and a Robby Bell crash put
the THR Motorsports/Monster Energy/
Precision Concepts Kawasaki behind by
a significant margin, though they forged
ahead to finish second. This year's race
featured a first-ever night start, which
was meant to give more space between
the motorcycles and the four-wheelers,
which left the start line the next morning. It went off without a hitch. Plus, this
year's race used a pre-race qualifying
format to determine starting positions.

simply a racing accident. A statement from KTM said there was
evidence on Caselli's motorcycle
to suggest that he had hit an animal, which might've caused the
crash, but he very well could
have hit an animal earlier in the
