H
ad it not been for a mechanical problem at round
three of the series in Texas, the bleeding suffered by the
competition might have been
worse, but Charlie Mullins put
an early end to their anguish by
clinching the 2013 Rekluse AMA
National Enduro title early after
taking a decisive win at the Black
Coal Enduro, the penultimate
round of the series in Indiana.
As usual, Mullins got a big
jump on the competition, the
FMF/KTM rider turning the fastest time in the first three tests and
sprinting out to a big lead.
By the fourth test, Andrew DeLong was getting into a groove
and the FAR Husqvarna rider
managed to beat out Mullins for
the fastest time by five seconds.
Although Mullins was second
and so he still had a healthy lead.
Jesse Groemm picked up the
pace in test five, turning a time
that was 17 seconds quicker than
Mullins and pulled to within 43
seconds of the leader.
