diligently to put together a winning team for 2014."
David Lloyd did not want to go into the reasons
Wiles was released and sent a short reply to an
email that read: "It was an incredibly difficult decision that had to be made for the progress of the
team. It is difficult because Henry is a friend that I
care for."
What makes the departure of Wiles even more
of a head scratcher is that he is still in the hunt for
the 2013 AMA Grand National Championship title
with just two rounds (the Santa Rosa Mile and the
Pomona Half-Mile) remaining. Wiles is currently
ranked fifth in the standings - 25 points out of the
lead.
It is known that Wiles was not happy when Lloyd
Brothers picked up former champ Jake Johnson
last month after Johnson left Zanotti Racing. Wiles
stated that he felt the addition of Johnson would
make things "chaotic" with the team. Wiles finished
ahead of Johnson in all four races since Johnson
has come on board with Lloyd Brothers.
