season in third. Not bad for a
rookie.
What was his biggest challenge over the weekend and the
season? The same as everyone
else's, suspension setup.
"We definitely changed suspension at every single race,"
Barcia said. "That's never easy.
We've worked on that a lot and
it's come a long way and I think it
will be dialed by next year."
250 NATIONAL
Even though the recently
crowned 250 Motocross Champion, Tomac, didn't dominate his
classmates like Villopoto did in
the 450s, he still had a great day
with a pair of second-place (later
changed to 2-1) finishes at a track
with conditions outside of his
comfort zone. And it would pay
off with an overall win, because
no one else could match his consistency.

Voicing the same opinion
about not really liking the track
and pointing out the need to respect the heat in what he thought
was the hottest round of the year,
Tomac wasn't going to make any
bold moves trying to be a hero.
"It was just a day where I guess
I wasn't totally feeling it on the
track," Tomac said. "It's like, why
take the risk to do something wild
and crazy? And it was warm, too.
So it wasn't like we could go, or
at least I, could go full-on the entire time without maybe blowing
my self up early."
It was a smart move and it paid
off. Especially considering that
Josh Grant over heated in the
450 first moto. He chose to rehydrate with an IV, giving up his
chance to ride the second moto.
Red Bull KTM's Ken Roczen
dominated the first moto, but
went down in the second outing
