ROUND 11/AUGUST 17, 2013
MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK/TOOELE, UTAH
MOTOCROSS

LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
those few laps in the wind," Roczen said. "Visibility was really
poor and it did not feel safe to
race at the normal pace so I had
to back off. I am bummed it cost
me a position but happy to finish
safely and on the podium."
It wasn't the best day for Roczen's teammate Marvin Musquin,
either. He's fighting for third in the
championship but just couldn't
come to terms with the Miller
track. "The track was tough, but
they always are," he said. "I just
struggled a little and have some
things I need to work on."
He still has a 15-point edge on
Baggett, who has been riding exceptionally well as of late.
Baggett, who is still coming to
terms with his right-wrist injury
and its limited range of movement, came from outside the
top 10 in both motos. He wasn't
a fan of the track either, but, like
the champ he is, Baggett put that
aside and rode one of the best
races he has all year. With Tomac
moving up to the 450 next year,
Baggett, who is staying in the
250 class, stands a good chance
to get the number-one plate back
next year, but he'll have a host of
up-and-comers to content with,
including his teammate Adam
Cianciarulo, who had a breakout
ride at Miller.
The 16-year-old had his best
ride since turning pro at the start
of the outdoor series. In the first
moto, Cianciarulo started off in
fourth and worked his way up to
second and ran there for quite
some time until getting caught
and passed by Baggett. A possible podium finish went out the
window when he went down in
the first turn of the second moto,
but he still went from 21st to ninth
for fourth overall. He was impressive and finally showed what
we've all been expecting to see
from the young rookie.
GEICO Honda's Justin Bogle
also showed what he's capable of
doing. He had his first glimpse at
the top since returning from injury
