Romain Febvre took second
on the weekend behind Herlings.
The Factory Kawasaki rider
battled fellow countryman Tom
Vialle in both races and got the
better position each time around.
Febvre made a late-race run at
Herlings, but it was too little, too
late for the 2025 champion. He
hands over the number-one plate
but sees a successful season,
taking second overall in the
championship standings.
Tom Vialle rounded out the
podium in third. His weekend was
highlighted by ending Herlings'
win streak in the Saturday qualify-
ing race and later starting up
front in both of Sunday's motos.
Vialle also battled Andrea Adamo
for fourth in the championship
standings. The two MXGP rookies
fought it out on track, with Vialle's
4-3 giving him the advantage.
Third overall and fourth in the
series is a solid outcome for the
French rider's return to the MXGP
championship.
MX2
The MX2 title was all but decided
heading into Sunday with Guil-
lem Farres controlling the points
chase. He just needed to finish
the race to clinch the champion-
ship, and a second-place result
overall behind teammate Camden
McLellan proved worthy of the
number one plate. He is only the
second Spanish champion and
the first for the Triumph brand.
"Camden passed me in the
second corner and from there
I just followed him; he had a
good pace and I could not pass
him, so second was really good
for me," Farres said. "The sec-
ond race was a bit the same, a
difficult start, but I was riding
comfortable. Going into the sea-
son, we had a great winter. We
worked a lot on and off the bike,
and we got some improvements,
and me and Camden always
push each other to the limit. Next
year I go up a class, the goal is
always the same and that is to
win, but I am going to have to
learn a lot of things."
Farres will not defend his title
next year and instead jumps up
to the MXGP division for 2027.
