Lynn and Co. Blasts to Baja 400 Victory
T
he seventh-annual SCORE In-
ternational Baja 400 served as
round three of the SCORE World
Desert Championship, taking
place in Baja, Mexico, Septem-
ber 11-12. The ever-challenging
423.42-mile course wove its way
through the Mexican desert and
featured a large turnout of more
than 30 riders competing in the
moto division.
Tyler Lynn led the SLR Honda
team to another victory in the
Pro Moto Unlimited class, taking
their third consecutive win in this
year's championship. After draw-
ing the number one start position,
the Honda CRF450X-mounted
trio of Lynn, Sam Pretscherer, and
Carter Klein took off first at the 5
a.m. start time from Ensenada's
famous Boulevard Costero. They
crossed the finish line 8:53 hours
later, just shy of 2 p.m., put-
ting them first in class and first
overall, nearly 16 minutes clear of
second place.
"Three for three," Lynn said.
"The race was amazing. It went
nearly perfect. We executed our
race strategy and our pit plan and
our race plan, you know, as best
as we could. And we all rode well.
We put in the work the whole
week prior to the race. It's kind
of just expected of us to come
here and make it to the finish
line first. The bike stayed up the
whole time, never touched the
ground once, or the handlebars.
The wheels touched the ground
a lot. The riders kept it off the
ground; we all did our jobs and
brought it here. I'm super excited
to go down to Cabo to race the
1000. The 'thousands' are always
stressful for us. Obviously, win-
ning today makes it a little less
stressful for us, we're excited."
Ciaran Naran's team finished
second overall with a time of 9:09
hours. After time adjustments,
the Ducati squad was officially
credited with a 25-minute deficit
behind the SLR team.
"I took the bike off this morning
to race mile 120, and I think we
were about four minutes down,"
Naran said. "So, three minutes
unadjusted, but had a really, re-
