For the second year in a row, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca played host to the 11th round of the MotoGP World Championship, as well as the seventh round of the AMA Superbike series. Also, for the second year in a row, Parts Unlimited converted turn five into a Chalet for dealers to enjoy a place out of the sun and away from the crowds. "We Support the Sport" is Parts Unlimited's motto, and they again proved it's one of the largest support- ers of the sport by playing host and entertaining hundreds of dealers and industry personnel at their VIP hospi- tality center. Over 700 dealer person- nel were given race tickets and pad- dock passes to help them enjoy this once-a-year event. To kick off the ultra-exciting week- end, Parts Unlimited and AGV invited current World Champion Valentino Rossi to stop by the Parts Unlimited tent for a VIP dinner and autograph session. Qualifying reps and managers were lucky recipients of an auto- graphed AGV Rossi replica helmet. The race weekend itself was packed full of entertainment for spectators and industry personnel, and one of the contributors throwing down extreme entertainment was the X Games. They showed up with gold- medalist freestyle rider Nate Adams, who pumped up the crowd by throw- ing down a host of backflip variations that had never been seen before. Those who made it into the paddock were met by exotic race fumes, beautiful umbrella girls, scurrying team members and scorching heat. To help beat the heat and the crowds, Parts Unlimited placed a second truck in the middle of the paddock for a nice place to cool off and relax with a cold beverage. As race time approached, the Parts Unlimited VIP deal- er hospitality center in turn five Chalet began filling up to watch the best riders in the world in person, as they entered and exited turn five, or watched on one of the many TVs scattered throughout the area. With live race coverage playing on the big screens and the sound of the bikes going through turn five only 50 feet away, there couldn't have been a better place to watch the world's best motorcycle racers. Not only does the Parts Unlimited slogan, "We Support the Sport" go above and beyond the meaning, but Parts Unlimited supports the dealer as well. In appreciation of everything dealers do and contribute to the sport, Parts Unlimited is proud to hold such an event for those partici- pating dealers and would like to thank all of those who attended.
