New Yamaha motocrossers were shown on
the cover 40 years ago, featuring the 1987
YZ250 and YZ80... We had coverage of the
rainy and muddy AMA 125/500cc National
MX Championship from Binghamton,
New York. Eddie Warren won the 125cc
class and David Bailey the 500cc class... Randy Renfrow won the
F-1 class at the AMA Camel Pro Road
Race from Mid-Ohio. Fred Merkel won the
Superbike race.

In our Special Cruiser Edition 30 years ago, we
compared the biggest and baddest cruisers and rode
them to Red Rock Canyon and Sin City, where we
cruised the boulevard and made a stop at the Hard
Rock Cafe, which was pictured on the cover... Jeremy
McGrath won the Kenworthy's round of the AMA
125/250cc Motocross National... Rick King won the
Oklahoma City Half Mile... Kevin Hines won the Tri-
State National Enduro.

Steve Baker was featured on the cover of Cycle
News 50 years ago for winning both races at the
AMA GNC road race at Laguna Seca... We had
coverage of the AMA 125cc Motocross National in
Delta, Ohio, where Bob Hannah took the overall,
defeating his rival Marty Smith and extending his
lead in the championship... Mike Bell won both
motos at Ascot Park's Thursday night motocross.
