briefly passed the teenager, but
she retaliated into turn one to
retake third before the checkers.
"I think the biggest difference
today was I finally got off the
line without getting passed,"
Binder said.
In race two, Binder and Her
-
rin traded the lead in a fierce
opening-lap dogfight.
The front-
runners quickly gapped Yaakov,
Hayes and Scott, who eventu-
ally pitted with a mechanical. A
few laps
later, Yaakov low-sided
at the Andretti Hairpin, exiting
the race with her clutch hand
trapped between the handlebar
and the pavement. Hayes then
inherited third.
Herrin executed a textbook
pass in turn five to take the
point. Binder countered three
corners later with an inside
dive at the Corkscrew entrance,
but he overcooked the left-
hander and ran through the
gravel. Five turns later, Binder
crashed entering turn two. He
quickly remounted his dam

aged machine to salvage an
11th-place
finish and five valu-
able championship points.
Binder's
crash elevated Hayes
to second and Di Mario—who
had dispatched Brenden Ke
-
telsen (BPR Racing Yamaha)—to
third, but
the spotlight belonged
to Herrin. He cruised to an eight-
second victory over Hayes, while
Di Mario secured his first career
Supersport podium.
Binder retains the champion

ship lead by nine points over
Herrin, while Yaakov
moves into
third despite her race-two DNF.
