ROUND 6 / JULY 11, 2026 THE WICK 338 / SOUTHWICK, MASSACHUSETTS MOTOCROSS I AMA PRO MOTOCROSS / SUPERMOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P68 red plate back to Jett by just one point. "Bit of a bummer obviously how it finished," Hunter said. "We were pushing—I felt like I got a bit of rhythm, and I put a good lap in the prior lap. I just bumped the gear shifter into neutral, and that was enough. We had a big gap to fifth place and then just brought it home." Haiden Deegan had his best day of the season results-wise and rounded out the podium in third overall. The 450 rookie is proving he's the only one who can run with the Lawrence's, even if for only half the moto. Deegan split the two brothers early in distance in race one and capital - ized on Jett's late-race mistake, stealing away another moto vic- tory to start the day. It looked to be another perfect day as Hunter controlled nearly all of race two and looked to finally break away in the closing laps. Unfortunately for him, he went down on his own in a sandy turn with five laps left and fell from the lead, dropping back to fourth. Hunter said he had hit neutral, causing him to fall. "I half winded myself, enough for it to take a lap to get my breath back," Hunter said. "That was tough, I hit neutral and stuffed it." A 1-4 on the day put him sec - ond overall as Hunter hands the TONDEL TAKES SEXTON'S SEAT Chase Sexton's seat on the Mon- ster Energy Kawasaki Team has been filled by Norwegian Corne- lius Tondel, who will substitute for Sexton as he recovers from a knee injury. Tondel made his name on the MXGP circuit before heading Stateside. On his first ride at Southwick, he finished just outside the top 10 with 9-13 moto scores. "The first moto was quite hectic at the start," Tondel said. "I got tangled up at the start and almost went down but managed it pretty well on the first lap and finished ninth, which I was pretty happy with. In the second moto, I had a better start and was inside the top 10 by the first couple of laps. Unfortunately, I made a small mistake and was a little gassed, which led me to fade a little bit." EURO INVASION With the MXGP off weekend, multiple Euro regulars showed up for the Southwick National. Both Lucas and Sacha Coenen made their returns to the series, as did Tony Cairoli (15-35) and Roan Van de Moosdijk (7-34) in the 450s. In the 250MX division, Bud Racing fielded two of their EMX stars in Francisco Garcia (9-8) and Jake Cannon (35-14). PENALTY REPORT Only one penalty was handed out this weekend, with Levi Kitchen receiving one license point for go- ing off track in the first moto. Briefly... Haiden Deegan had his best showing of the year and held off Jorge Prado in the final laps of the second 450MX moto. What could've been. Lucas Coenen set the fastest 450MX qualifying lap but fell in the first turn. He clawed his way from last to fourth before crashing again and retiring for the day.
