The motor is a big surprise. The previous-gener-
ation Sherco 250 four-stroke wasn't too impressive,
but this one is. It runs amazingly
well. It has great
power for playful trail riding and enough for high-
level racing. The fuel-injection tuning is good even
on tight, technical trails, and the Akrapovic exhaust
is quiet yet sounds awesome. It makes you want to
twist the throttle just to hear its sweet sound.
The bike has two engine maps, switchable via
a button on the handlebar, but the difference is
subtle. Still, it's nice to have the options.
As with any four-stroke, it stalls more easily
than a two-stroke in tight sections, but it is no
worse than comparable four-strokes in its class.
