VOLUME 63 ISSUE 17 APRIL 28, 2026 P75
PENALTY REPORT
Race Direction reviewed and con-
firmed rider Alvin Hillan for a track
cut/gaining an unfair advantage in
track section 10 (whoops) of the
SMX Next race, and he was penal-
ized one position, moving him from
11th to 12th finishing position.
Race Direction also determined
that 450SX racer Dylan Ferrandis
went off track in the whoops and
penalized him for gaining an advan-
tage. He received a three-position
penalty (two positions gained,
plus one for the offense) and was
moved from ninth to 12th overall.
TOMAC OUT
Eli Tomac sat out for the second
week in a row as he was absent
from round 15 in Philadelphia. The
team reported that he is still recov-
ering from his qualifying incident at
the previous round in Cleveland but
could be "potentially returning dur-
ing the final rounds of Supercross."
Philly Notes: This is the ninth dif-
ferent season where Ken Roczen
has led the 450SX points… Roczen
ties Ricky Carmichael for fifth on
the all-time 450SX podiums list
and second on Suzuki's 450SX
class wins list. Roczen also
recorded his 300th top-10 SMX
finish in 323 starts (93 percent)...
Cooper Webb earned his 84th
career 450SX class podium in 154
starts and eighth for the season…
Cole Davies earned Yamaha their
20th 250SX class Championship,
tying Honda for the second-most
in class history. It was only their
sixth Eastern Divisional title
compared to 14 in the West. He
became the second Supercross
Champion from New Zealand after
his mentor, Ben Townley.
Briefly...
(Left) An untimely fall derailed
Hunter Lawrence's race as he
finished third and gave up the
points lead. (Bottom) Cole Davies
wrapped up the 250SX East title
with another win.
Lawrence rounded out the po-
dium in third but lost the points
lead
in the process. The Honda
HRC Progressive rider entered
the main event just one point
clear of Roczen, and urgency
was apparent as he holeshot
over the other two title contend
-
ers. After Roczen passed for the
top
spot, Lawrence stayed close
for the first half of the race and
even made contact as he fought
back for the lead. He then went
down in treacherous conditions,
allowing Webb to effectively end
his shot at a win. Still, Lawrence
remounted and finished third.
"I've got a little extra fuel dur
-
ing the week," Lawrence said.
"Happy
to get out of here in one
piece. I had a few 'oh crap' mo
-
ments out there. Damage control
with
that little crash, so happy
with that, all things considered,
because once it happens, some-
times the train can go off the
tracks.
Happy to bring it home."
Joey Savatgy finished a
season-best fourth after winning
his heat race earlier in the night
and was the final rider on the
lead lap.
"Heat win and fourth in the
main," Savatgy said. "On to Den
-
ver and hopefully nicer weather."
Justin Hill continued
his run
of strong finishes by rounding
out the top five.
"Not much time to look cool
before the rain hit," Hill said. "All
