days in a row, and coming out
and performing [tonight]. This is
cool. It's a Triple Crown, so it's a
tough one."
Tomac stayed consistent to
finish second overall. Lapped rid-
ers played a huge role in Tomac's
night
as he got held up in the first
and second main events. This al-
lowed the leaders to pass or gain
critical ground
while the number
three found himself checking up
for the slower riders.
In the final race, Tomac lost
the tow to Lawrence after a
small mistake in the whoops
created too much of a gap on
the short track.
"I made one mistake in race
three, which allowed Hunter
[Lawrence] to pull out a second
or two lead, which I just wasn't
able to bring back," Tomac said.
He still finished the night with
3-2-2 scores to take the runner-
up spot and only lost minimal
ground to Lawrence in the
championship hunt.
Tomac said, "I'm glad to get out
of here in P2 because this place
makes for a tough night of racing
with the Triple Crown format, as
well as the soil, so I'm looking
forward to the break now."
Cooper Webb rounded out
the overall podium in third. The
defending champion usually
thrives in rutty conditions, but
he was just a tick off the pace
of the front-runners. His best
finish came with a third in race
two, where he gained a posi

tion after Lawrence's run-in with
the lappers. Webb
battled his
teammate and race-two winner,
Justin Cooper, for the entirety of
race three, with Webb taking the

PLESSINGER OKAY
Aaron Plessinger suffered a big
crash in race two after colliding
midair with Ken Roczen. Luck-
ily, the extent of his injuries only
includes a "pretty good bruise" on
his right arm. "My day was going
alright in Indianapolis, and I felt
we made some steps forward
throughout qualifying," Plessinger
said. "I climbed up to eighth in
the first race, which was good.
Given where I started, I felt I rode
pretty well. And then in race two, I
got a pretty good start inside the
top five before Kenny [Roczen]
slid on one of the on-offs, then he
went double while I tripled, which
had me plow directly into his
back tire on the next jump. It took
me off the bike, and now I have
a pretty good bruise on my right
arm where his tire hit me, but as
bad as it was, I think I got pretty
lucky to get away from that one
with nothing broken."
STILL NO SEXTON
Chase Sexton was still on the
sidelines for the Indianapolis
round as he continues to recover
from a crash suffered prior to
Daytona. Still no word on the
severity of the injury.
Briefly...

Webb was third
overall and,
like Tomac and
Lawrence, had
moments with
lapped traffic.
