ROUND 9 / MARCH 7, 2026
LUCAS OIL STADIUM / INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA
P72
LAPPERS
All of the 450SX podium finishers
revealed their frustrations with
slower traffic. "[I] got balled up by
lappers and paid the price for it,"
Tomac said. "So, it was frustrat-
ing that way. And then I almost
got taken out in the second moto
by a lapper. So, yeah, it's bad, it's
bad. I think if the track's sub-50
seconds, make it a 15-man gate.
I mean, they're just riders that
are way off the pace of the top
lead group, and if the promoter
wants to potentially lose cham-
pionship contenders, I mean,
then let's keep it the way it is. But
yeah, frustrating." The defending
champ, Cooper Webb, said, "He
[Tomac] is right. There should be
penalties, whether it's money…
because it's clear that they don't
care about points, because they
are not in the points. So, if you
take their money away, and
that's how they live, then maybe
they'll get it. It's unacceptable.
The series needs to step in and
do something. It's a joke for
our sport." The winner, Hunter
Lawrence, had his thoughts, too.
"It complicates things. It always
seems to be the same repeat
offenders, the lapped traffic, and
it makes things sketchy. I don't
know; it's tricky and very unique
for sure."
ADAMS INJURED
Drew Adams logged some of his
best laps at the previous round in
Daytona, but a crash derailed his
night and kept him out for Indy.
"Unfortunately, Drew injured his
thumb and will be taking a week
off to rest and recover," said Pro
Circuit Kawasaki team manager
Iain Southwell.
