EY CHUCK BArr NitA Ponco City Gluolifier River Volley hlX wArrs, oK, ,rtAY l3 Fi 'ders from all around the resiofl swoooed down on RMer Kvattey t'lx, locared along thelcenic lllinors Prver in €as(ern Oklahoma, to begin th€ar quest to attend NllAs Ponca City National in August. Some riders came in with hiSh expectations, some with low' and some iust feelin8 oua their comPetition for the summer months ahead. Nailing the start in the first moto of the hody contest€d l25cc Novace class was Honda rider Blake Godin. with local hotshoes Ricky l"lcReynolds, ,osh Wilson and Todd Bloxham close behind. But with so many fast, c2pable riders in the field, the victory would go to the one who made the few€st mistaket And as the six-lap batde royale came to a close, it was the Kawasaki-mounted wilson taking the checkers ahead of Bloxham, McReynolds, and Cody Tye. Moto ovo was again a display of speed and prowess as the gate fetl and the pack of racers dived into turn one. Godin came away with the lead a8ain, but this time it would be shon-lived, as the Suzuki-mounted Bloxham snerked Pasr for the lead. Godin, Wilson and McReynolds followed. As laP one went into the books, Tye took a spill, bringint out a yellow fla8 for a f€w minutes, but the flag that mattered began flyin8 aa race's end with Bloxham claiming the moto-two vi.tory as well as the ov€rall. wilson secured third in the moto for se(ond overall, and McReynolds rounded out the podium spot with third overall. The Schoolboy class was just as competitive. The moto_one holeshot went to Sloxham, followed by Godin and Honda 85cc rider Terren O'Dell. A Iew corners into laP one, O'Dell made the move inao second and set out after the yellow streak that was Eloxham, out front. The hBrd-charBing Tye, aboard the Honda, began solking Godin, and soon after he took over ahird. With two laps to Eo, O'Dell made his move on Bloxham for the lead, and he carried it all the way co the checkers, with Bloxham close behind, Tye in third, Godin in fourth, and Rl4l25 pilot Kyle Westerdale in fifth- l'loto two was nearly a carbon copy of the first one, as Bloxham once aSain absconded with the holeshot, but this time O'Dell stayed close and made his move on lap two. With the ears {olded back on his CR85, O'Dell turned fast laP after fast lap, and he took the win again, ahead of Bloxham, Godin and westerdale. Tye didn't start moto two due to afl iniured foot sustajned earlier in the niSht in a Novice_class moto. o'Dell simpry dominated the 85cc (12-15) and 85cc Open class€s as well, over the always-fast, Yz8s-mounted Cody Lee, Reynard Modifications rider Garrett Comer, and Cory Pap.zynski. Headine into Ponca Cit/, O Dell has already Proved throughout the year that he's a h€aw Iavorite in the 85cc Senior classes as wellas the hody contested Supermini classes.
