positions.
The long outdoor track brought out riders who are busy

the upcomin8 outdoor National series, including
14ike Alessi.
Joe
Oehlhof and Caner Gurnee. Alessi dominated
the Open
Pro
class, easi\,/ beating his nearest competitor by
more rhan 15 seconds in each moto. Aiessijumped
out
into
the
front with the holeshot
in
both motos and was able to
put
a bi8
lead on the rest of the
pa.k
very
quickly
and easily
to claim the
overall win. Honda-mounted Antonic Balbi took
second
place
in
both motos and second overall, over Gurnee, who'd had to
battle back from a
poor
start in the first moto.
ln
the
Over 28 Pro clals, Gurnee and
Oehlhof battled at the
front of the
pack
in both motos. Gurnee led both motos, but he
had Oehlhof knocking on the door. Gurnee maintained his lead
and rook the overall,
with
Oehlhof
(2-2)
takin8 second overall.
Third
place
went to Suzuki-mounted Chris Youn8.
The
36-42
Novice-class
season champion was
Jonny
Benskin, who took four
ovemll
wins during
lhe series.
includin8
the win in th€ Ilnal round. Benskin traded wins in th€ final round
with l-5 MX riderloe
Sufter.
Benskin

l-2) was able to edge out
Sufter
(3-l)
for the overall
victoq,/.
Another
l-5 l4X
rider, Tim
Dollison
(5-4),
rounded out the
podium
for the day.
Bert Vega was the big winner in th€ 28-35 BeSinner .lass.
The Mid Cities/Fasst Co-backed rider took both the overall win
for the day and also won the series
points
race with four overall
wins durins the series. Runner-up in
points
as well as for the day
was
Sharpline
Painting-backed Honda
pilot
Gene Houston.
Third overall for the day was Aaron McQue.ry
(4-4),
and
Thomas Laftenhauer
came
in third in the series
points.
Other
class winners in the series
points
included Bill 8andy,
who took thee overall wins an the Over 50 Be8inner class
durinS
the series, over runner-up Steve Bird, who had two
overall wins. The 43-49 Eeginner-class champion was Brian
l4alyszek, who had three overall wins, and the
runner-up
was
leff
Stallings, who was only six
points
behind. The champion in
the always-competitive
28-36 lntermediate class was Damian
Baker,
with
two overall
wins; he was
aonsistently
at the front
of
the class. He was able to beat Rose Robinson
(who
also had two
overallwim) by 16
points.
