The MD|I/Moto6port/Honda-backed rider sufiered a poor start in th6 main and spent mocr of the night trying to catch up. "l felt like I had the p6ce, but I iust didnt 8et $e start I needed to run up front," Wey said. "l spent the whole race trying to catch up, and at the end lwas a whole lane behind seventh. gLrt we've got three races left and I am goin8 to put everylhing into it, because I really want to finish lifth in the seriei You know I'm not gonna lie - this track was terrible. lt was really hard to make up time. "But when I tot into the main, I kind of dorked out and got tight. I didn't ride up to my pot€mial, but I am pretty pumped to be in the main event. The track was tough, because it 8ot chewed up ptetty bad, with pothohs and chop. That's one of the reasons I tightened up. That iust made for a tough 20 laps." Tedesco pw his Makita Suruki around Preston on lap five of the main, but couldnt gain the real6tate to get around Byrne. "l felt stuck in a rut tonitht," Ted€sco said. "Even lhough I didn't get the great- est start, I made some decent moves to get myself into position to either Bet on the podium or at least get close to the podium. Lappers became a big factor over the llnal 15 laps of the 20-lap race, especially since the lap times on the Houston course were much shoner than usual - only in the low-to mid-40s. At the finish, Stewart came home some four seconds ahead of Carmichael. with Reed another 17 seconds back.
