Ducati Introduces New Desmo450 EDX Off-Road Racer D ucati has announced its first- ever competition motorcycle designed for off-road closed- course racing. The Desmo450 EDX is a cross-country version of the Desmo450 MX, equipped with off-road-tuned Showa suspension, a bigger 2.25-gallon fuel tank, an 18-inch rear wheel with Pirelli Scorpion XC Mid-Soft rubber, handguards and a skid plate. The electronics package includes Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Power Launch, Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) and Engine Brake Control (EBC). "Based on the Desmo450 MX, this is a lightweight, highly ad - vanced, yet essential motorcycle designed to meet the needs of both amateurs and profes- sionals," says Ducati, "thanks to the performance of its Desmo engine, an easy-to-ride chas - sis suitable for riders of all skill levels, and the sophistication of Ducati's advanced electronic package, which includes the first-ever closed-loop off-road- ready traction control. The Desmo450 engine makes a claimed 63.5 horsepower at 9400 rpm and reaches a claimed peak torque of 39.5 lb-ft at 7500 rpm. The rev-limiter activates at 11,900 rpm. The Desmo450 EDX is sched - uled to arrive in North America in January of 2026 and is priced at $12,495 in the United States.
