ROUND 10 / AUGUST 18, 2025
UNADILLA MX | NEW BERLIN, NEW YORK
MOTOCROSS I AMA PRO MOTOCROSS / SUPERMOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
P68
opening laps, Tomac moved
into third and later attempted
to challenge Hunter for second.
He couldn't break the Aussie
duo out front in either moto, as
a fifth-place start in race two
forced him to play catch-up. Still,
Tomac's energy looked back to
normal as he finished third for
the day and moved up to third in
the championship standings.
"It was a solid day for us here
at Unadilla," Tomac said. "As
a whole, I rode well and found
a good flow in both motos,
specifically in moto one. I was
comfortable and felt good. I just
wasn't quite as fast as the two
brothers and missed out a little
bit on the starts."
it wasn't good enough. Congrats
to Jett; he's been riding awe
-
some all season. We'll see if we
can get
him in the [SMX] Play-
offs."
Tomac
locked in another over-
all podium for the third consecu-
tive round. After falling ill last
week,
his struggles continued at
Unadilla, as the former cham-
pion didn't appear to be at his
best during the morning
qualify-
ing session. The experienced
veteran
put that behind him and
came out strong once the gate
dropped. During an exciting first
moto, which featured the top six
riders—minus Red Bull KTM's
Chase Sexton, who did not race
at Unadilla—all battling in the
as he showed Jett a wheel and
continued to push the pace.
Hunter settled into second both
times with mounting pressure
from Eli Tomac in moto one. As
Tomac closed in, Hunter found
another gear and pulled away.
Two second-place finishes put
him solidly in second place for
the day as Jett secured the title.
Barring anything catastrophic
at the season finale, Hunter
will finish second in the series,
marking a historic first-time 1-2
finish for brothers in an overall
championship.
"I've always considered my
-
self as a top contender, so it's
good to
be here," Lawrence said.
"I gave it my all both motos, but
Even though Hunter had to
concede the 450MX title
to Jett at Unadilla, he still
supported his younger
brother by wearing a Jett
number-one T-shirt.
