T
here are Sunday cruises,
and there are Marc Mar-
quez (Lenovo Ducati) wins
at the Sachsenring. While just
nine of his pursuers managed
to finish behind, the eight-time
champ took a fourth straight
double victory in commanding
fashion without ever getting
close to his limits.
In his 200th MotoGP start,
Marquez dismantled the chal
-
lenge of Fabio Di Giannantonio
(VR46 Ducati) with alarming
ease early on, stretching out his
lead anytime the Italian had the
temerity to attempt to close in.
By the flag, he was more than
six seconds clear as he moved
ahead of Giacomo Agostini to
second in the premier class win
-
ner's list with 69.
The Catalan's glaring supe-
riority was clear from the first
day of running at Sachsenring.
Knowing Saturday would be wet,
he decided against a second
time attack at the close of
practice, instead choosing to
test Michelin's medium rear tire.
No one else was even close to
enjoying that luxury.
We are in the middle of the second era of
Marc Marquez's MotoGP dominance. He
made it look all too easy in Germany.
