riders crashed
out on Sunday—
six of them at the notoriously
tricky turn one—with Saturday's
rain washing away much of
Friday's rubber. Plus, a tailwind
blew along the start-finish
straight, ensuring the entrance
to the corner—which claimed
Pecco Bagnaia's (Lenovo Duca

ti) victory challenge in 2022 and

"It was a really good day," Dixon
said. "I'm a bit frustrated as I was
pushed wide at the first corner and
then hit by another rider, which
lost me crucial time. I felt like I was
always having to play catch-up from
there. And I had been saving my
rear tire for the final laps and felt
I could have caught the guys up
ahead had they not put out the red
flag. I really felt like I could have
won today. But apart from that,
I have to be happy because this
weekend could have turned out a
whole load worse after yesterday's
big crash."

"Honestly, I don't really know what
to say," Mir said. "We were having a
good race, riding within the limit of the
tricky conditions we were experienc-
ing out there. I was doing my race,
battling cleanly, and was on course
for a good result. I was closing in on
MYOWNRACE
Fabio Quartararo was in the top five all
weekend but lamented the Yamaha's
overheating rear-tire problem.
