RJ Hampshire continues to
impress with another top-five
finish, using two fourth-place
results for fourth overall.
"It was my best qualifying,
and I felt good on the bike,"
Hampshire said. "I had a decent
start in moto one, then worked
my way up, and I felt like I had
good speed in that one to finish
P4. The second moto, it wasn't
the best start, but I made some
quick passes and put down
some good laps to find myself
in fourth again. Overall, it was
my best day on a 450 so far."
Justin Barcia rounded out the
top five with 8-7 scores in his
RedBud. Many expected to see
that same intensity from the de

fending series champion, but his
pace was
never strong enough
to compete with either of the
Lawrences at Spring Creek. Sex-
ton finished a lonely third place
in both
motos, but his consis-
tency paid off with third overall.
"I
felt like my opening laps
were better today, but I lost a lot

KAWASAKI BLUES
The Monster Energy Kawasaki
Team continues to struggle with
riders Jason Anderson and Jorge
Prado. The former MXGP World
Champion, Prado, was hoping
for better results after showing
signs of progress the week before.
"Today's results weren't what I
was hoping for," Prado said. "I was
able to put a fast lap down in quali-
fying and give myself a good gate
pick with that. In the first moto, I
got a good start, but the track was
very rough, and my setup was a
bit off for the conditions and the
downhill section. We went back
and made some changes to the
bike for moto two, which felt much
better for me. I was more pleased
with how that race went, but I
started to tighten up towards the
end." As for Anderson, the team
announced that he would not be
lining up for the Spring Creek race
"due to health reasons."
