overall win this season.
"The second [moto] I was able
to make a good start again and
just try to ride with no mistakes,"
Jett said. "Really tried not to
make the same mistake twice.
Hunter was riding well and
wouldn't let it go. My bike was
better, but I had to be patient on
the downhills. Hunter kept me
honest, but we needed to keep
the win streak going, and I had
to dig deep today to do that."
Hunter had one of his best
went better than expected. I gritted my
teeth through the pain and managed
to finish 10th. On the left-hand turns, I
could lean and push, but on the right,
it hurt, and I couldn't ride at my best.
It's a shame because we could have
had two good top 10 finishes, but we
still gave it our all and gathered plenty
of very important data."
83 AUSTIN FORKNER
8TH (9-11) 250MX
Austin Forkner earned his best finish
of the season with an eighth overall.
"That is the best that I have qualified
this year, then I had two better starts
in the motos," he said. "I lost a couple
of positions early in moto one—I
lacked the intensity—but I still ended
up in ninth. I was 11th in the second
one, and that put me eighth overall.
My riding was better all day, and I
felt comfortable. This is a step in the
right direction, and I have nothing to
complain about."
