Jett
slowly and carefully
worked his way forward until he
had third place, although he was
significantly behind the leader,
Tomac, in terms of time.
With just a few minutes re

maining in the race, the red flag
was displayed.
AMA rules state
that if there is a lightning strike
within an eight-mile radius of the
racing facility, the race must be
halted, and because more than
half of the race (20 minutes)
where I was. You don't really get
too flustered about it. It's like,
'Alright, that happened,' and then
just move on to the next."
Even with the mistake, his late-
race charge was rewarded with

Race two saw heavy rain fall

moto wasn't too great, but the last
four laps, I found a good flow. It was a
big improvement for me."

RJ Hampshire continued his run of
top 10 finishes with eighth overall. "I
came out with another P6 in moto one
and felt like I rode well, then the skies
opened in moto two. It became all
about survival."

7TH (7-7) 450MX
Jason Anderson bounced back after
a tough weekend in Colorado with a
pair of sevenths for seventh overall.
"In moto one, I battled my way to get
seventh, then in moto two, I started
at the front of the field. I feel like I
should've finished fifth or sixth in that
moto, but I had to take my goggles
off and had a tip-over. The rain was
pretty crazy."
