remaining, Tomac stuffed the
front end and crashed while in
striking distance. This effec-
tively handed Jett the victory,
allowing him to
secure another
pair of firsts. He now leads the
points by 25—one full moto—
over second place, Eli Tomac.
"I was able to capitalize on
mistakes from everyone else
while not making many of my
own," Lawrence said. "This track
made it easy to do so. I could
ture a little bit and find different
lines, especially in these condi
-
tions. We had a good battle, and
it was fun
racing AP in that one."
Jett fought his way to the
front again in the second moto,
this time under pressure from Eli
Tomac. The two heavyweights
slotted into first and second
at the halfway point, and once
again, the race intensified at the
front. Lawrence still maintained
the lead, and with three laps

Tomac still finished second
overall with 3-2 moto scores.
In moto one, a stubborn Hunter
Lawrence held Tomac at bay for
nearly the entire race until a last-
lap crash allowed the former
champ, Tomac, to slip past.
"I just got a little hung up,"
Tomac said of the first moto. "I
made a few pass attempts on
Hunter, but I was never able to
finish it, and I got stuck in a bad
pace. So that was frustrating,
but I had a bit of luck when he
fell over."
The real excitement came in
moto two, as the number three,

Ty Masterpool was flying in the first
250MX moto. "In the first moto, I got a
pretty good start," he said. "I worked
my way up to third, and then, unfortu-
nately, I hit false neutral in a corner.
I was battling with Garrett [March-
banks] for the last couple of laps and
finished in fourth. I'm still fighting
my cold from last week, and I was
throwing up in between motos. I was
in survival mode once that happened,
plus with the altitude mixed in, it was
pretty tough."
