Sexton and the team have remained tight-lipped about his absence, only stating that their star rider would not be competing at Hangtown following his first- moto get-off at the Fox Raceway opener three weeks ago, stating that he was "banged up," in Sex- ton's words. No specific injuries were reported. KTM provided no update on Sexton prior to the Thunder Valley National, which he did not attend, even to sign autographs. Nor did KTM pro- vide any updates on Sexton after the Thunder Valley race, leav- ing his fans and everyone else wondering what was going on. Even Sexton has been quieter than usual on social media. SHUT OUT It was a tough day for the Mon- ster Energy Kawasaki factory team after both of its riders, Ja- son Anderson and Jorge Prado, DNF'd the second moto. Ander- son, who has a history of altitude sickness at the Thunder Valley track, again struggled all week- end, but a crash in the second moto resulted in an early depar- ture. "I went down at the top of the track and tweaked my knee, then I ended up going down again and got trapped under my bike for a bit," Anderson said. "I didn't feel comfortable finish- ing the race after that." After finishing eighth in the first moto, Prado went down in the second moto.
