ROUND 15 / APRIL 26, 2025 ACRISURE STADIUM / PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA SUPERCROSS I MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS / SUPERMOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP P68 "When he got on the gas, he roosted the crap out of me, and I just couldn't see and jumped off the track. It was a tough track. I feel like I rode well, I just couldn't get close enough to make a pass." Justin Cooper crossed the line in third for his second podium of the season. The Star Racing Yamaha rider showed improved speed in the heat as he caught and passed Sexton and won a qualifying race. In the main event, the number 32 fought hard in the opening laps and moved his way around many former race winners. To his credit, "J Coop" set the fast - est time of the race and was blazing speed. He began jump- ing through the whoops and managed to cut the lead back down to under two seconds, but lappers and deteriorating track conditions kept him from strik- ing distance. A second-place finish is a big blow to Sexton's title hopes, as he needs every point he can get against Webb. Had he won in Pittsburgh, a pair of second-place finishes in the remaining two rounds would be enough for a second Supercross title. Now, he trails by 12 and must win the next two races and hope for the best. "I made that one mistake; I was following Coop jumping them [whoops]," Sexton said. can't see where you're losing or gaining. Until the checkered flag came out, I didn't think I was safe. I was just trying to click 'em off as best I could." Sexton stayed close all night. He was arguably the faster rider in terms of sectors and lap times, but small mistakes kept him from the top spot of the podium. The number-four started right behind his title rival Webb and kept the pressure on in the early laps with his fast blitz line through the whoop sec - tion. The whoops later bit him, as an off-track excursion was a turning point in the race. The mistake saw Webb's lead grow, but Sexton again retaliated with Chase Sexton finished a close second in 450SX but lost his recent momentum.
