the night with a bang as he won
the opening 450SX main event
over Yamaha's Justin Cooper.
"This is my least favorite dirt
out of the whole year," Roczen
said. "In the end, with the little
bit of speed that I had, I was
totally happy with it."
A fifth in race two marked
his worst finish of the night but
still put him in contention for an
overall podium. Roczen looked
to end the night on a high and
took control of the race lead
early in the final main event. An
exchange of block passes be
-
tween him and Sexton allowed
Webb
to close in and make
it a three-way battle for the
"I knew going into the last
one that even if I won the race, I
was likely to not win [the over-
all]," Webb said. "Obviously, it
was great riding in the last
two
main events, but Chase [Sexton]
had that incident with me, and
it gave me that win. I didn't feel
like I was the best guy tonight,
but I put myself in good posi
-
tions and made the most of it."
Ken Roczen
crossed the line
second overall, his fifth podium
of the season. The Progressive/
Ecstar Suzuki rider kicked off
"Chase and I were coming
through the pack, and we were
going for it. We got around
Kenny [Roczen], and then the
battle was on. He made that
mistake and stalled it [and
gave up the lead], and I actually
ended up stalling myself. It was
a duel until the end. I felt a little
something [nudge me] at the
end, and then I heard the crowd,
and I was just in disbelief like
everyone else. I can't believe it.
It's a lot of luck there."
The victory, combined with
Sexton's mistakes, sees Webb
take sole control of the red plate
heading into Daytona's round
eight.
Ken Roczen started the night
with a win before taking
second overall.
