P
ecco Bagnaia (Ducati
Lenovo Team) has been
recently accused of not
taking enough risks in his pur-
suit of a third straight MotoGP
crown, but that wasn't the case
on Sunday, as he put it all on the
line in treacherous conditions to
take one of the most important
wins of his life to stem the flow
of points lost to Jorge Martin
(Prima Pramac Ducati).
Martin clinched second on
Sunday after his Saturday's Sprint
race second place, the result
meaning he could finish second
in the remaining two Sprint races
and full-length GPs and still be
crowned the first independent
team rider MotoGP World Cham
-
pion in the sport's history.
Third on Sunday went to Pedro
Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3),
the rookie breaking Jack Miller's
(Red Bull KTM Factory Racing)
heart by snatching away the
podium with two laps to go.
In Moto2, Ai Ogura (MT
Helmets – MSI) became the
first Japanese World Champion
since his former mentor Hiroshi
Aoyama triumphed in the 250cc
class in 2009. Ogura's second
place behind winner Aron Canet
(Fantic Racing) ensured the title,
the first for chassis constructor
Boscoscuro and the first non-
Kalex title since Marc Marquez
triumphed on a Suter in 2012.
Marcos Ramirez made it
a good day for the OnlyFans
American Racing Team in third.
