We featured Kawasaki's 1985 Kawasaki Ninja 600 on the cover 40
years ago, as well as Honda's new 1100cc American-made V-twin
Shadow. We called it a "Harley Killer."... Yamaha introduced the
PW50 and PW80 "mini" bikes... The Orange Show Stadium in San
Bernardino, California, hosted the CMC Trans-Cal indoor night
motocross. Johnny O'Mara took the win and a brand-new Toyota
pick-up... Larry Roeseler and teammate Kurt PfeiŠer won the
Frontier 500 point-to-point desert race... Holland hosted the ISDE
for the first time and won.
