Lawrence made it look easy on
the technical track and opened
up a nearly eight-second lead at
the line, taking the win in stride.
His Australian teammate, Web

ster, finished 19th in race two,
providing
their drop score for the
day. Fernandez held on to take
second for Team Spain.
Germany's MX2 rider, Simon
Laengenfelder, crossed the line
third against the field of 450s.
After battling with de Wolf for
most of the race, the Dutchman
eventually slid out and lost the
spot on the box. Fifth place still
gave him the MX2 overall win,
going 1-2 in the 250 classifica
-
tion. His contributions kept Team
Netherlands in first
overall going
into the final race.
The American pair of Aaron
Plessinger and Webb crossed the
finish line in seventh and ninth, re-
spectively, keeping them only one
point
out of the overall lead.
Plessinger got off to a good
start and had the leaders in his
sights but could not maintain the
pace and steadily slipped back,
while Webb enjoyed a better
start this time and fought his
way inside the top 10, the fourth-
best 250 in the moto.
OPEN/MXGP
It all came down to race three, in
which the Open and MXGP riders
duked it out for global suprem-
acy. Tomac again started up
front
again and led the first half
of the moto before a mistake
allowed Gajser to get by him. The
