to make a pass on Eli but just
wasn't able to do it," said Jett
Lawrence. "Then, in the sec-
ond one, once I was in second,
Chase was already gone. I think
in the first one, if I hadn't made
the mistake of the bike stalling,
it would have been a lot differ

ent outcome."
Eli Tomac continues to
impress, looking like the cham

pionship-caliber rider we're used
to. The number three challenged
for the lead in race one, but a
fifth in race two pushed him off
the podium to fourth.
"Our first moto was great,"
said Tomac. "I made some great
passes and was in the battle for
the lead. Moto two was a bit of
a struggle to move forward, and
I didn't have the same pace as
the first one."
Cooper Webb rounded out
the top five with 5-4 scores, one
spot up on Ken Roczen with a

could do about it."
Jett Lawrence finished on
the podium in third overall. The
reigning SMX Champion looked
good all day and led most of
race one, but a series of mis

takes, including stalling the bike,
dropped him back to third in
that moto. He stalked Tomac in
a battle of the generations but
could not make a pass stick. A
poor start in race two saw Jett
coming through the field before
landing second to Sexton's
insurmountable lead. Consis

tency is key for the current
number one, as he's nine points
back, third in the championship
points. The SMX finale is set
for a triple-points payout and
will likely lead to a winner-take-
all scenario, something Jett is
certainly familiar with.

Honda HRC Progressive teamed
up with the Pediatric Brain Tumor

World Championship. All the
Honda HRC Progressive bikes
ran a one-off look, which is set to
be auctioned off to raise money
for the foundation. The partner-

imaginations. Through a series
of 20 animated short films, the
Imaginary Friends explain a wide

topics in a way that kids can
understand, thereby removing
some of the fear associated with
treatment.
SUPERMINI ALL STARS
The world's best Supermini riders
took to the Texas track for their
own main event. GasGas' Brody
Moss won an exciting race over
Wyatt Duff and last year's winner,
Carson Wood. "This is massive
to me," Moss said. "I got off to a
decent start, tried my absolute
hardest the first two laps, caught
'em, passed 'em, put in a two-lap
sprint, and ran."
CARSON MUMFORD
After winning the 250 LCQ last
weekend in Charlotte, Carson
Mumford suffered a broken leg
during the Texas qualifier. "Had a
stupid crash in practice today and
compounded my right leg," Mum-
ford said via social media. He's
already undergone a successful
surgery and is on the road to
recovery.
