jump... Kenny Roberts won the Peoria TT. The victory meant he was the
third rider in history to complete the Grand Slam, winning all disciplines
of GNC racing (road race, mile, half-mile, TT, and short track)... Jimmy
Weinert won both Open motos at Moto-Masters MX in New York to
overtake Tony DiStefano in the race for the National Championship.

LOOKING BACK I
Our Kawasaki KDX200 test bike was pictured on the cover 40 years
ago... Honda's Mike Baldwin led a "V-3" sweep (Baldwin, Randy
Renfrow and Richard Schlachter) at the AMA GNC/Camel Pro
Road Race at Sears Point... We did a little research on tire wear in
the AMA Dirt Track Championship... We had coverage of the AMA
Motocross Championships from Washougal. Rick Johnson, Je
Ward and David Bailey were all winners. Bailey clinched the 500cc
Championship... Eddie Hicks, Mike Healey and Bobby Moore were
the standout riders at Ponca City.
