Dumas, Daley Share Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Wins A lex Dumas (Ducati) and Trev- or Daley (Suzuki) shared the wins at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park over the weekend at round five of the 2024 Canadian Super- bike Championship; Daley also went on to win the Sport Bike cat- egory, with Sebastien Tremblay taking the championship. Starting second on the GP Bikes Pro Superbike grid, Dumas took the lead from polesitter Sam Guerin (BMW) and main- tained it throughout the race, though under constant pressure from title rivals Guerin and Ben Young (BMW). Young, who started ninth, quickly moved to third by the end of lap one and later overtook Guerin to chase Dumas. The two championship contenders raced closely for the final eight laps, with Young attempting a last- minute move but finishing just 0.071 of a second behind Dumas, marking the fifth-closest finish in CSBK Pro Superbike history. This victory was Dumas' first since 2023 and his first with Economy Lube Ducati, marking Ducati's first CSBK win in nearly 30 years. Dumas couldn't back it up for race two, however, with Suzuki's Trevor Daley taking a second career CSBK win. The focus was on the cham - pionship battle between Young and pole-sitter Guerin, but it was Trevor Daley who came through for a commanding start-to-finish victory. Daley quickly took the lead on lap one, pacing ahead of Young and Tomas Casas (Yama - ha) on a wet but drying track. The race took a turn when race-one winner Dumas crashed in turn eight, followed by Guerin's fall in turn nine, seemingly securing Young a fourth Canada Cup title. However, Daley, riding his One- Speed Suzuki, denied his close friend that honor, fending off Young's challenge and extend- ing his lead in the unpredictable conditions and secured the win. In the Pro Sport Bike class, Young (Suzuki) took the race-one win ahead of Tremblay (Su- zuki) and Elliot Viera (Ducati). In race two, Daley hit back for the second win of the day after his Pro Superbike success ahead of Tremblay, who took the title in the process. Zoltan Frast (Kawa- saki) took third. CN VOLUME ISSUE AUGUST , P45 Trevor Daley (9) took a second career CSBK win at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
