of me were right there battling.
I figured those two are focused
on each other, and I went around
both of them pretty quick. It was
smooth sailing from there."
Youth Rider of the Year NSA
Yamaha's Owen Covell won the
Schoolboy 1 (12-17) class with a
1-1-1 and the 125 Jr (12-17) B/C
class with a 4-1-2 tally. On the
final day of his Schoolboy 1 race,
Owen didn't need a win. However,
he went for it anyway.
"Yeah, I had a good gate pick,
which definitely helped me," said
Covell. "The gates have been sick
all week, so my mechanic put some
work in and got some good dirt on
top and I ripped a good start, my
first whole shot of the week, which,
man, that moto was easy com
-
pared to all the other ones."
GasGas rider Brennon Harrison
was second overall and Mc-
Kayden Fitch (Yamaha) was third.
If there was a Cinderella story
this year, it was KTM-mounted
Owen Covell won the Youth
