Daniels Injured
A
FT SuperTwins points leader,
Dallas Daniels of the Es-
tenson Racing Yamaha Team,
suffered a broken femur while
practicing on July 21. He under-
went surgery the following day
and will be out of action for the
foreseeable future.
At the time of the incident,
Daniels enjoyed a 19-point lead
in the AFT SuperTwins Champi
-
onship over defending champ
Jared Mees and had been on the
podium in every race this year.
Following the July 28 Peoria
TT, he still leads but by just one
point over Mees, who has a
14-point advantage over third-
place Brandon Robinson.
The Estenson Team recruited
TT star JD Beach for the Peoria
race, which he has won three
times. Despite this year focusing
his attention on MotoAmerica
Superbike racing with the Tytlers
Cycle Racing BMW Team, Beach
finished second to winner Briar
Bauman.
"First and foremost, I'm
heartbroken for Dallas and the
Estenson team," Beach said.
"I've been lucky enough to have
been around Dallas quite a
bit since he was 15. We have
trained together a lot and trav
-
eled together."
