Stock 1000 Championship, it is
all to play for following the La-
guna Seca round. What seemed
like a walk in the park for defend-
ing champion Hayden Gillim
(Real Steel Motorsports Honda)
has turned out to be anything
but, with chief title rival Jayson
Uribe (OrangeCat BMW) now sit

ting a mere seven points off the
lead with 50 points to play for at
the final round in New Jersey this
September 27-29.

when you sit behind somebody
for so long, you end up studying
them. You sit there and study,
and study, and study. No of-
fense to Scholtz, but last year,
he had a massive highside in
that corner, and he almost lost
it again this year. So, I kind of
knew that he was a bit weak
there. Going over that rise, I just
knew I had more pace sitting
behind him and it was going
to allow me to go into [turn] 10
with a more aggressive move.
So, that's what I ended up doing
after studying like that."

penultimate corner following his
rocket-like drive out of the Rainey
Curve.
Scholtz was forced to stand
the bike up in a hard but fair
move by Jacobsen, who went
off to record his second win of
the weekend from Scholtz with
Davis again third, but this time an
encouraging seven seconds off
the winning time.
"This racing thing, when two
riders have the pace and they're
so similar with each other, you
got to find a lot of spots that that
person, you can overtake them,"
Jacobsen said after race two.
"So yesterday, when I overtook
him in turn six, I felt like that
was a good pass, and that was
Hayden Gillim (1)
charged hard in KOTB
race two for the win
over Kyle Wyman (33).
Bobby Fong (50) retired.
