day on a high note with a second
in moto two, which earned him
second overall. A fan favorite
of more than 20 seconds. A 1-1
sweep gave him the overall win,
stamping his fifth moto win of
the year and his third consecutive
race win on his Kyle Defoe-tuned
KTM. More importantly, Sexton
takes over the championship
lead, as he now heads Hunter
Lawrence by seven points.

Justin Cooper grabbed a podium in
race one but took fifth overall. "I felt
good all day," he said. "In the first
moto, I had a good start and just
charged to the end and finished on
the podium. In the second moto, I got
another good start, but I kind of got
pinched off. I went back pretty quick-
ly, and I was back to fourth or fifth,
then I ended up going down in the
same turn twice, which I'm bummed
about. I just had my work cut out for
me and I could only get back to sixth."

Kyle Webster finished his American
vacation with some laps led and
eighth place overall. A crash in moto
one held back his overall result. "It
was a small crash, but you can't af-
ford to lose time against these guys;
they are sprinting the whole way,"
the visiting Australian said. "I found
myself too often falling into the pace
of the guys in front of me. I learned
a lot from the first moto; I need to be
patient and more aware of my sur-
roundings in the opening laps."
