"It was a rough one last week-
end, for sure. I'm just super hap-
py and grateful that it could've
been way worse, and I got lucky
with it," Lawrence said about
last week's crash. "The second
[moto in Colorado], my legs
were already shot, so I was do

ing some lazy riding at the start,
just taking any outside that was
flat. Midway through that sec

ond moto, I thought, 'Do I just
stay here for third?' But I knew I
needed to make points up, so I
just waited to see if something
came up. Then Hunter made a
small mistake, and he relaxed
in that section, and I got him
there. Then I knew I had to get
Justin because I knew if I didn't,
Hunter would get me back. Then
I sprinted, and I got Cooper with
a few laps to go, and from there,
it was just head down and keep
on charging."
Consistency is paying off for
Hunter, as three consecutive
second-place overall finishes

of sevenths but got bumped back to
eighth overall. "It's been 10 years
since I've been here—I'm probably
going to keep saying that for my next
few quotes until we get to Unadilla—
and I'm having a good time so far.
We went 7-7 for eighth overall. I
felt like I was in some good battles
between sixth to eighth. I honestly
feel like we're in a good spot and I'm
stoked with the team. We made some
changes for that second moto, and
they made the right decisions to help
me feel more comfortable again."
