COCHRAN FASTEST
QUALIFIER
Seventeen-year-old Casey
Cochran, a 250MX-class rookie,
clocked the fastest time of all the
250MX riders during the morn-
ing's qualifying sessions. The
sole Rockstar Energy Husqvarna
250 pilot had never been to the
Hangtown track, but said he found
his flow early in the morning. A
pair of 12ths was good enough
to give him 10th on the day. "It
was definitely a good day," said
Cochran. "I surprised myself and,
I think, a lot of people this morning
by qualifying fastest, then ended
up 10th overall for the weekend.
To finish inside the top 10 at the
second round—I'm happy with the
day overall."
NEW LAYOUT
The track crew opened up the
layout with less tight turns and
off-camber corners. The addition
of sand to the soil also made for
a more unique look than we're
accustomed to in years past. The
new setup made for fast laps and
some great racing.

Hunter Lawrence was one of Chase
Sexton's (4) 39 victims in the
second 450MX moto.
Jett was shaken up in the fall
but slowly got on his feet. He pitted
afterward to straighten the bike's
front end and rejoined the race.
"Rough race!" Jett said. "In moto
one, I thought I could go for a
double that would give me some
space, and it ended up bucking me
off. I got a chunk taken out of my
leg, which was not ideal."
