After a dress rehearsal on lap
20 in which Martin dived up the
inside of Bagnaia at the Dunlop
Chicane only to run wide and fall
back to second, a lap later, he
Quartararo, in his very fancy one-
off suit, helmet and bike paint job
crashed out at the Chemina aux
Boeufs esses. Jack Miller also
crashed out on the same lap.
Espargaro slowly dropped
down the field and on lap 12 was
caught off guard when Bastianini
barged past at the Chemina aux
Boeufs esses, Espargaro having
to take avoiding action up the
slip road. Bastianini would later
get a long-lap penalty because
he ran off the road as well, ruin-
ing any chance he had of making
the podium despite his searing
late-race pace.
Meanwhile, Di Giannantonio
was giving as good as he got
against Marquez's attacks,
repassing the eight-time World
Champion straight away at the
Dunlop Chicane and seriously
hindering Marquez's charge up
to Martin and Bagnaia.
Lap 17 was an unlucky one for
the French fans, as home hero

It was another terrible
weekend for Repsol Honda,
with Joan Mir crashing out
of both races and teammate
Luca Marini (10) finishing
last in both races.
These are the three who
will battle it out for the
2024 title but all are
chasing form man Martin
(center) right now.
