VOLUME ISSUE MAY , P101
toward lead FIM Steward Fred-
die Spencer, admitting they were
"unprofessional." The Frenchman
was enraged in the wake of the
former 500cc champion's reac-
tion after his clash in the Spanish
GP with Aleix Espargaro. "Two
weeks are gone, so we can arrive
calmer to a meeting," said Zarco
of his interaction with Spencer on
Thursday morning at Le Mans,
aimed at clearing the air. "What
was not professional from my side
was to get a high voice. "I said to
Freddie and the other marshals,
they are free to take a decision,
but it's only Freddie who is speak-
ing but then they take the decision
all three."
Briefly...
ie's first MotoGP race mistake,
as the front washed away and
the 19-year-old phenom was out
of the race. It was sheer luck he
didn't take Di Giannantonio or
Espargaro down with him.
A lap later, Bezzecchi com
-
pounded a miserable weekend
by crashing out of eighth at the
La Chapelle left-hander.
The race began to settle
down, with Bagnaia holding
off a hounding Martin. Half a
second back, Espargaro had his
hands full with Di Giannantonio,
and Marquez was full send on
another superb fightback from
13th on the grid up to sixth and
right on Vinales' rear wheel by
lap seven.
Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM)
was also having a good ride af
-
ter a shocking qualifying result,
the South African starting last
in 22nd place and up to 10th by
lap eight.
Fabio Quartararo's
fancy paintwork
couldn't save him in
the Sunday GP as he
crashed out in front of
his home fans.
