Justin Barcia finished just
off the podium in fourth ahead
of championship contender
Cooper Webb, the closest rider
to Lawrence in the champion-
ship points. But Webb was riding
with
an injured left thumb, and
his discomfort was visible as he
rolled the finish line one-handed
on the final lap.
"I gave it my best tonight, but
it was a really challenging main
event," said Webb. "I've been
struggling with grip strength
these past few weekends from
a thumb injury sustained in my
Birmingham heat-race crash.
Despite the challenges, we're not
out of this yet and will continue
to fight until the checkered flag
waves in Salt Lake City."
Justin Cooper crossed sixth,
with Malcolm Stewart and Chase
Sexton racing to seventh and
eighth after a first-turn crash.
Dylan Ferrandis transferred
through the LCQ before taking
ninth, with Tomac finishing 10th
after an early race crash.
Tomac and Sexton are cur
-
rently tied for third in points
going into
the season finale.
250SX West
The 250SX West field returned
to the gate in what will be the
last time they have the track to
themselves before the East-
West Showdown in Salt Lake
City. After a dramatic round in
Nashville, RJ Hampshire held
the red plate in Denver over for
-
mer leader Levi Kitchen. Neither
of
those championship contend-
ers took the win, though.
Instead,
Jo Shimoda grabbed
his first win of the 2024 season,
the second of his career. The
newest addition to the Honda
HRC squad has taken longer
Cooper Webb acknowledged that
he's been racing with an injured
thumb since the Birmingham
Supercross and finished off the
podium in fifth.
