"I knew he [Lawrence] was
really close," Tomac said about
the pass for the lead. "In that
situation, it's like 50/50 on,
where do you go? I just happened to be
on the outside, and it didn't quite work
out because there were two guys down
there. Either way, Jett was riding really
fast, and I tried to latch on to him but just
lost a little bit of touch there. But those
first few laps were a lot of fun. I got the
holeshot and was definitely sending it
there in the beginning."
Cooper Webb finished third on the
night. The co-points leader cut down
Lawrence's points lead with a string of
podiums in the last three rounds but
failed to beat his rival on Saturday night.

the main event by grabbing
the holeshot and turning up
the pace in the early laps.
While leading, he unlocked two new
jump combinations—a double across
the start straight and a triple off the wall
just before the whoop section. These
lines allowed Tomac to maintain the
lead as he held off a charging Roczen in
the first parts of the race. Later on, he
relinquished the spot to Lawrence after
finding himself slowed up from lapped
traffic but circulated in second, nonethe

teammate, Webb, and wedged
himself
between the two championship contend

striking Chase Sexton,
Tomac jumps to
third in the championship points.
Tomac had his chance
to win but had to
settle for second.
