ing the main event. It proved to be
a quiet race for Webb, who "made
a lot of mistakes" on the opening
laps once the pace picked up. He
still rode a safe race and finished
on the box yet again, keeping him-
self in the fight with three rounds
remaining.
"For me, it was the sand, it
was really tough on me," Webb
said, referencing his toughest
section on the track. "I feel like
I made mistakes and couldn't
flow through there very well.
I think I tried too hard at the
beginning and made a lot of

Rain threw a wrench in free
practice, which was canceled be-
cause of the wet stuff. As a result,
the riders had to dive straight into
the first timed qualifying session.
MARCHBANKS
BANGED UP
Garrett Marchbanks went down
early in the 250SX West heat
race and was transported to the
local hospital. He reported the
next day that he suffered "a little"
concussion and a broken thumb
that "will be fixed up soon."
SURGERY FOR
PLESSINGER
Aaron Plessinger will sit out the
remainder of the Supercross
series after having surgery on
his elbow, which was broken in
a crash during qualifying at the
Foxborough Supercross. Recov-
ery will take an estimated 4-6
weeks. He hopes to return for the
opening round of the outdoor MX
Championship at Pala Raceway
on May 25.
HAMMAKER
SIDELINED
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Ka-
wasaki Team rider Seth Ham-
maker pulled his entry at the last
moment. Hammaker injured his
shoulder at Foxborough and tried
riding on the Thursday before
the Nashville race. The next day,
Hammaker decided not to com-
pete in the Nashville race and
instead will focus his attention on
the next round in Philadelphia,
his home race.

Cooper Webb admitted
that he didn't have the
pace to keep up with
Lawrence and Tomac.
