the opening stages of the 450
main event. The Red Bull KTM
rider led the first number of
laps and looked to be running
away as Webb and Lawrence
made their way forward. While
minimizing his mistakes on the
track, Sexton came to a stop
when he stalled the bike in a
deep rut. He stalled the bike
earlier in the night during a heat
race, as well.
"With this track, it was super
hard to stay clean," Sexton said.
"I have no idea why I did that
[stalled the engine] twice tonight."
ROUND 11 / MARCH 23, 2024
LUMEN FIELD / SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
SUPERCROSS I MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS / SUPERMOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
P72
"I think I had plus-five at one
point, and he sucked it right up,"
Webb said. "I definitely tight-
ened up and lost some flow, and
I
lost some of my lines that were
working early, and I didn't adapt
to some of the ones I should've.
In my mind, there were two
places he could get me, and I
just made sure to make those
difficult to pass."
With the win, Webb shaves
the championship points to 16
and keeps his title fight alive
with five rounds remaining.
Sexton looked his best during
breath out of myself. It took me like
30 seconds to get a breath. Once I
was able to breathe, I got back on,
but my bike was pretty bent up, and I
just did the best I could from there. It
was definitely a disappointing night."
57 NATE THRASHER
9TH 250SX WEST
"It was definitely an eventful day,"
Nate Thrasher said of his main event.
"I came together with another guy,
and something happened to the
clutch. So, I was just kind of surviv-
ing from then on and did what I could
do. It just sucks. I felt like I had just
started riding well and started moving
my way up through the field, and then
not having a clutch on that rutted
track was definitely not easy."
