After literally connecting with
Lawrence on lap seven (of 24)
while running second and seeing
Lawrence go down, Webb set his
sights on leader Chase Sexton.
"I knew Jett was coming,"
Webb said. "He tried the inside
because I was going outside
in the sand. I felt him, and the
crowd went crazy, so I was like,
'Oh man, he fell.' That's when
he was either going to get up
and come after us or this is my
chance to try and catch Chase."
"I got up to Cooper and
Chase," Lawrence said. "I just got
too confident in that one turn and
ended up clipping the back of
Cooper. I bent the rubbers in my
triple clamps pretty good, and
riding that track with tweaked
triple clamps isn't the best."
After making up for an eighth-
place start, Lawrence lost a po
-
sition to Ken Roczen—who was
running in fourth, having just
gotten passed by Lawrence two
laps earlier—and a lot of ground
to Sexton and Webb.
Webb then sets his sights on
the leader, Sexton, who eventu
-
ally bobbled, giving Webb the
opportunity to pounce, which
Webb did. Then it was Webb's
turn to make a mistake and
Sexton went back past him. The
deciding moment came later in
the race when Sexton stalled
his bike in a deeply rutted turn.
Webb slid through to the lead
again, but this time never relin
-
quishing it, even with Sexton
closely in tow. Webb took the
win by just 0.592 of a second
over Sexton, making it the clos
-
est finish of the 2024 season.

10TH 450SX
Jason Anderson said he struggled
with the Seattle track en route to a
non-Anderson-like 10th. "In the slip-
pery qualifying sessions, I finished
fifth overall," Anderson said. "During
the heat races, I did not feel comfort-
able on that gnarly track. During my
main event, I was trying to run up
front with the guys, but ultimately
dropped down to 10th. Overall, not
my best day of racing."

14TH 250SX WEST
Jordon Smith is seeing his title
hopes slip away after he suffered two
crashes in the same rhythm section
while running second. "It was a tough
night," he said. "Man, I felt good all
day. I had a good practice, won my
heat race, and felt good in the main.
I kind of struggled with some lines at
the beginning of the race and then
started figuring it out. I felt like I was
closing the gap on Levi there in the
later stages of the race and then went
down in that rhythm section. The
ruts were deep and caught my pegs,
so I came up short and knocked the
