We had a four-stroke theme in the number-seven issue of CN 30 years
ago. We featured a couple of four-stroke test bikes on the cover, the
ATK 605CCES and Husaberg 501FC. We also tested the 1994 Kawasaki
KLX250... Mike Craig won his first career Supercross at Tampa. He
ended Jeremy McGrath's winning streak and moved into second place
in the championship... We had coverage of the Adelanto Grand Prix,
which drew more than 1000
entries. Ty Davis and Larry
Roeseler were the big winners.
Ben and Eric Bostrom were pictured on the cover of Cycle News
20 years ago to accompany our interview with the legendary
racing brothers in our special Daytona preview issue... We had
coverage of the Houston Supercross that was held at Reliant
Stadium. Chad Reed won to extend his series lead. James
Stewart dominated the opening 125cc East round on his factory
Kawasaki KX125 two-stroke against the majority of 250F four-
strokes... Besides the Bostroms, we also interviewed Johnny
Murphree, Mike Laerty and David Vuillemin... We looked at
some of the factory World Supersport machines.
