"I think the biggest difference for me is just my decision- making," Lawrence said. "The past few weeks just haven't been as good. My speed hasn't been too bad, it's just been poor execution. It's an exciting learn- ing curve. The biggest thing for me is just consistency, and I'll be happy with consistent starts and consistent podiums." Defending champ Sexton rode a quiet yet important race to take second. The Red Bull KTM rider made his way to second place on the open- ing lap and stayed there for the duration of the main event. While keeping Lawrence in his sights, Sexton never seemed close enough to show a wheel or make a pass. A second in this field is nothing to scoff at, either. "It was a good day again," he said. "I qualified sixth and had a good start in the heat. I was able to finish second there, which is my best finish so far in a heat on the 450. I took it to the main and didn't get off the gate that well. This class is tough. I started about 12th or 13th and finished ninth. That's all I could do. I felt like I rode well all day. I just wish I had that heat race start in the main." Lawrence executed the all-important holeshot in the 450SX main. stayed few from lead.
