"I think the biggest difference
for me is just my decision-
making," Lawrence said. "The
past few weeks just haven't
been as good. My speed hasn't
been too bad, it's just been poor
execution. It's an exciting learn-
ing curve. The biggest thing for
me is just consistency, and I'll
be happy with consistent starts
and consistent podiums."
Defending champ Sexton
rode a quiet yet important
race to take second. The Red
Bull KTM rider made his way
to second place on the open-
ing lap and stayed there for
the duration of the main event.
While keeping Lawrence in his
sights, Sexton never seemed
close enough to show a wheel
or make a pass. A second in
this field is nothing to scoff at,
either. This marks Sexton's third

it at the end of the set there. It sucks
to crash like that, but I fought hard for
11th—the riding has been improving."

5TH 250SX EAST
Pierce Brown set the fastest qualify-
ing time and salvaged a fifth after
getting stuck in the first-turn pileup.
"Round one for us is over and done
with; I got the nerves out of the way,
which feels good. Overall, it was not a
bad day; I got away lucky, especially
with what happened at the start of the
main, which was hectic! Salvaged a
fifth, which isn't too bad, and we're in
a good spot for the upcoming races."

9TH 450SX
Justin Cooper wanted better but felt
good about his riding. "It was a good
day again," he said. "I qualified sixth
and had a good start in the heat. I was
able to finish second there, which is
my best finish so far in a heat on the
450. I took it to the main and didn't
get off the gate that well. This class is
tough. I started about 12th or 13th and
finished ninth. That's all I could do. I
felt like I rode well all day. I just wish I
had that heat race start in the main."
